... we cannot locate our tour guide. We can't see the placard with our names. Ian goes on the hunt and finds our new guide Sue at a different exit. Phew! As the flight was late we are a bit challenged over time. Our only option is McDonalds! Which we have to eat in the car! What a birthday treat for our special day! Hopefully we can find a nice restaurant for tonight to celebrate. We are heading to Western Hill which overlooks the city. We have no ...

From there you have a beautiful view of the Gorge and the Yangtze river, a great reward for ...

... still nice to be outdoors and we got some good photos.

When we got back to the bus station we attempted to find a legit taxi to take back to the hostel but all of the taxis were empty. Instead, a mob of drivers trying to take us in their private cars formed around us. It was quite intimidating but Kelli handled it well and shooed them away. In the chaos we eventually gave in and went with a lady and man to their car who was offering a similar price as the nonexistent ...

        ... us.

That marked the end of our visit to the Stone Forest unfortunately. We would have liked to stay longer but we were compelled to return the way we had come to Kunming. Once again we encountered very heavy traffic and had to fight our way through the exits. Motorbikes and scooters seem to fare better and there are thousands of them on the road in China. In the cities I can understand why although the riders ...
