Hello everyone, just letting you know that I'm still alive and - apart from having my feet massacred by mossies and seriously suffering from jet-lag ( time is 1.23am and i am wide awake) - I'm doing good. Flight over here was a killer. End of. Don't want to dwell on it much too much other than to say I'm now dreading the flight back from San Fran and am considering just living in US to avoid it! (Mum i jest, don't fret :P) Here are some pics of the flight that are, in the boredom you will fee...

I had booked my flight through STA travel in London, I am glad that I took their advice and got a hotel through them for my first couple of nights in Bangkok. I arrived at the Hotel Mandarin, I checked in, had a shower and a nice little nap.
When I woke up I decided to see what Bangkok had to offer, so I took a walk. Opposite the hotel there was a tour operator, so I decide to enquiry about the price for me to fly to Phuket and spend some days on the beach. I was informed ...
We have only been in Bangkok for a few hours and yet our lungs feel heavy with smoke. As we stepped off the plane we were hit with a thick blanket of condensed air. We walked around the airport trying to find a taxi, one that wouldn't rip us off, and finally came across a young wavy hair man who offered us his service for 300 bahts. During our ride to the Manderin Hotel we gathered some information from our driver on cheap accomodation and markets as we hadn't planned anything further than th...

... clothes, shoes, trinkets, fresh juice, waffles, vases, lamp stands, DVDs, wall hangings, artwork, jewelry. In fact, it was overwhelming. We had read that you could actually pick up a guide book that gives you a map of the market as there are themes to each block of stands.

One thing I find fascinating is the little altars or miniature temples they erect everywhere. It can be a huge modern bank building in the middle of downtown and still there is this little spirit ...
Bangkok, Thailand claraz8... I’ve ever been anywhere with so many tourists! It was still impressively beautiful, even after overhearing one young american girl say “so it’s not even the real palace... it’s just the tourist palace, whatever”
The heat ended up getting to me so we headed back to Ko San Rd for lunch and home to the hotel for the afternoon.

Others on the other hand came back empty handed, they told me that all their suit cases had been stolen, nothing was left in their rooms. It was apparent that the firemen where going round the rooms and ...
Bangkok, Thailand traveller64446... pretty bad.

July 7
The plan was to wake up early and go to Pattaya. Since I felt so bad I didn't bother to set my alarm. Eventually I woke up, ate breakfast at the hotel and checked out by noon. I catch a taxi to the bus station and he takes the LONG way. I should have just taken the skytrain to save the money and the time. I arrived to the bus station and bought my ticket to Pattaya. Soon my bus departs.
