... time, there was a great distraction for me. People were pouring into the bars along the street. It was noon and the World Cup Final between Argentina and Germany – far more interesting to me than the Chinese Theater – I was a goner. The rest of the family hiked on and I stepped aside with a few hundred of my closest “football” fans and watched TV. Paula, Izze and Matt had a great time doing their thing and ...

We evidently didn’t time our run through the surf correctly. That right there is what is called an understatement. ... 10 bill and didn't bother with waiting for change. Obrigada and Adeus!

More airport lounges, super smooth flight to LAX. The landing was so soft, I didn't even realize we had landed. Not one hitch in the entire trip which seems pretty amazing. Spain and Portugal are officially in the record books and I had a wonderful, enjoyable, enriching and educational time. Glad to be home!

... of questions...! So maybe the learning isn't so much about stuff and things as it is about world view... and I think really that our worldview shapes the way we evaluate much of everything else we see.... How does our worldview cause us to look at the California missions, the Spainiard's mission with the Indians?
When we see the great number of homeless people living on the beach in Santa Barbara...what does our worldview "do" with ...
