Arrived
Yes I finally arrived, 15 minutes early. Not much to say at this point except everything is so green here, and I want to sleep for three days. Goodnight!
Caribener Selection - The DMM BOA Big Gran Daddy!
... strong biner. The 30kN Boa is the – yes, and you’ve guessed it – ‘Grandaddy’’ of lockers'.
It has impressive gate closed strength and is robust enough to cope with the toughest of rigging scenarios. And yet, because it has an I-Beam construction, it is still impressively light.

Chester
... sluices were opened and closed in the correct sequence.
After that had a meal at the Queen Victoria which is a very old pub, and then a walk around the shops in the old town. The shops are at ground level and also on an upper level. Chester isan old Roman town and has kept it's character throughout hundreds of years. The wall is still in remarkble condition and is almost 90% complete.

Ellesmere
Back down the motorway on Thursday to Ellesmere Port where the Waterways museum is. I guess you have to like boats, especially narrow boats, to enjoy a day out here. Just like yeaterday the weather was kind n the morning, but by 3.30 it was getting dark and cold.
still, we had a good look around the museum and spent about three hours there. Lots of things to see and in summer there are boat trips up the canal.
A good day out.

TravelPod Member ReviewsHilton Manchester Airport
Usual Hilton standard, $$$$, room too warm, not a great nights sleep, £14.99 for 24hr wifi

This is so much better than the Crowne Plaza. It's much friendlier and nicer decor. The bed was comfortable, room was quiet even though it was near a train line - with the window closed there was no noise. The bathroom was clean - always a positive thing! The only downside is that I ordered a curry from the room service menu and it was under the "spicy" section of the menu. It was the most bland chicken I've ever tasted. There was no flavour and no salt or pepper on the tray or in the room. Apart from that, I certainly would reccommend this airport hotel over any of the others at Manchester.

Historical Traveler Reviews Hilton Manchester Airport
Excellent position near terminal buildings
Excellent position near terminal buildings and ample hotel parking. Reception area very pleasant and easy check-in with helpful staff. Room clean and comfortable although found it hard to sleep as air conditioning didn't seem to be working very efficiently so very hot.
Couldn't Fault It
Stayed at the Manchester Airport Hilton on 25th September 2005 and couldn't knock it all all.
We ate in the a la carte resturant and the meal was superb and bit pricey but you expect that at all airport hotels (as it was at the Manchester Airport Radisson earlier in the year). The room were clean and well furnished, the only down side is the lack of light which again is a common trend in hotels these days.
Will defintely stay again when we use Manchester Airport
Amazing rooms
The room was fantastic, everything you might need and tastefully decorated. The room service was one of the best meals I've ever had!!! Would definitely stay again.
Good Choice for Airport Parking
We have previously stayed at the Crowne Plaza at the airport. We found the room at the Hilton to be better furnished, more recently decorated and quieter.
The car parking service was not quite as smooth as at the Crowne Plaza, with about a 15 minute wait to be picked up from the terminal, but overall we prefered the Hilton.
Good hotel and airport parking facilities
We've stayed at the Manchester Airport Hilton 3 times now before flying off to various destinations on holiday. We find it convenient, comfortable and reliable. And they can look after your car and have it waiting for you when you return. Not cheap but well worth the money. Particularly nice for us (as we have two boys aged 10 and 8) is that our rooms have always had two full-size double beds so we can all have a good night's sleep before starting the holidays.
A perfectly serviceable airport hotel
Stayed one night before our flight back to the US. The hotel is your typical airport hotel with the complimentary shuttle to the airport and soundproofed rooms. The business center facilities are nice but expensive if you're a leisure traveler who just wants to access email.
There is a nice indoor pool and work out facility.
Not much in the way of restaurant food and it is pricey. We walked over to the Bewley's and took advantage of their 6.95 pound breakfast buffet. Frankly, if it hadn't been for HHonors points I would have stayed at the Bewley's. We also ate dinner in the Crowne Plaza instead of the Hilton.
Very disappointed!
We decided that we wanted to treat ourselves to a good hotel before our holiday flight. It was expensive to stay here but I thought it would be worth it to give our holiday a good start. We were really disappointed. The swimming pool was so tiny and not kept well and the gym was really poor. The food was expensive and the rooms were basic. Only good point is that it is very close and easy to get to the airport.
Great stay
I stayed one night before flying out on my hols. I live in the area and thaught it would be a treat for me to stay at the hotel. I enjoyed every minute of my stay, it was great i had a double room with a view of the airport very clean and tidy and nice decor. Also i enjoyed the free coffee tea, and the mini bar was stocked to the top of great choice, and the shower was fantastic, the room service was excellent!!
the gym was great, the resturants and the food and service were excellent, and then to be taken to the airport in there shuttle service was great. The staff were helpful. I felt like a queen for the night even though i was paying. I would adv anyone traveling from Manchester Airport to stay at the (Hilton) Top marks!!
Very Nice
I stayed at the hotel for five nights on business. I was very impressed with the hotel and the service. The rooms and public spaces were modern and obviously recently refurbished (although the outside wasn't very impressive at all). The service was generally good, although we had one bad experience with the "coffee shop" in the lobby.
The room prices were fair, although towards the expensive side. The buffet prices, in my humble opinon, were outrageous. The dinner buffet was just not worth 25 pounds! The problem is...there aren't a lot of easy options in the area. The best option we found? Walk over to the lobby restaurant in the Radisson. The pricing is much fairer.
The biggest drawback? The bar sucked. It was an airport bar - very sterile, very well lit. Futher, the piano player in the bar sucked. I don't know where they found a novice who was willing to practice his piano in public, but he was just awful.
Anyway, the hotel served its purpose nicely and was in a good location for us. I wouldn't hesitate to go back there if business brought me back to Manchester (but I certainly wouldn't chose it as a vacation spot).
Love to travel
The stay here was WONDERFUL! I would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone that travels in the area. The room service was on a timly manner and the resturants service was also very good.
