Another Boring Stopover
We were so lucky to get here in 1 day. We left Derawan at 8am with no clue where we would end up. We went to the airport on the off chance that we could get a flight to Balikpapan that day, with the intention of flying to Manado the next day. We ended up getting flights all the way there, with only a few hours waiting around in between. Once there, we finally found somewhere for dinner and a beer at around 1am and then went straight to bed before our morning boat to Bunaken

Day 129 - Managing a Travel Crisis in 6 Easy Steps
... dinner and board our flight to Manado in Sulawesi. At the airport we met a couple of Irish girls who needed a place to stay so we shared a cab to our rather palatial hotel. Mia had found a great deal for online! The ladies had been partying earlier that day and were ragged and strung-out but reasonably friendly and definitely appreciative.
After a long day we had no trouble falling asleep around midnight in our nice comfortable king sized bed.
