... on the slope! Well, not really, they were just flattening the snow I think but they were all in time and there was music so it looked funny. I took a video to add to this too.

There was some other cool stuff we wanted to do nearby. We drove to a castle and past an ice cave but they were both closed. It seems like a lot of things here close for winter which is a shame, there has been plenty to see anyway though and staying here has been very nice.

... off little blasts here and there. When midnight finally rolled around boy did the skies light up with fireworks all over the place! It was just brilliant. The snow had finally stopped falling, it was -2 degrees and mum and I danced in the snow welcoming in the new year. After some hard work building an epic snowman earlier in the evening Dan and Dad retired to bed early.

... the ski hire place in our little town and asked about hiring skis for me and a snowboard for Ben. It seems like its really cheap here it was only 12 euros to hire for half a day. There are plenty of little ski slopes around here with their own ski lifts which are apparently very cheap to use. There is no big ski resort in this area with lots of slopes, but it seems it will be good for us to pick it up again here because its not so steep. Hopefully we can do that ...

We started our walk in Mirabell Gardens where we saw the Pegasus Fountain and then we preceded on to the old town.
The old town consists of a square mile of 18th Centuary cobbled stones streets.

... is at one of the highest points and "on the side" of Salzburg. I personally think that it gives the best view of the entire city (allowing you to see the city and the castle). We had a couple drinks and then walked back down into the city.

Once we walked around a little more, we decided to head back to the hotel and get a full nights rest for the next day.
