Awake at 0600 dressed, breakfast & left at 0830 for our morning trip to Salzburg. And sunshine as we leave Innsbruck. As we leave onto motorway there is quite a blockage on the oncoming side ( fortunately ) trucks ++ probably due to a religious holiday tomorrow. Next is Salzburg and we are here for 2 nights to do the Tourist trail. We purchase our 48 hour Salzburg Card 32 euros each and set off to see as many sights as we can fit in. Cable cars to mountain peaks, Salzburg river cruise, Gardens, Hohensalzburg Fortress, Hellbrunn Palace and trick fountains.

... driving to Hallstatt. We drove through the mountains, some with snowy tops, and had lunch at the edge of a lake surrounded by the mountains featured in the opening segment of the movie. It was here that we finally found someone serving "Barlauch" soup, made from the wild garlic I saw in the woods several weeks earlier.
