... were visited in the parking lot. One friendly couple stopped to ask questions about our rig and were happy to get a look inside, and an older man stopped by just to chat and give us advice for our travels (moose warning - drive slowly and don't drive at night). We all talked in the parking lot for a good half hour.......

From Corner Brook, we took a 20-mile drive to Lark Harbor at the south end of the bay. Distances are deceiving ...

Another day in paradise nearly over. We are both sitting outside our tent in the campground on our computers. It never ceases to amaze me that we can sit at our tent and go on the internet.

... We set up camp and then went for a drive around the town. It is called Corner Brook and is made up of four distinct parts. Curling to the south has fishing, Humber West is the shopping hub, Humbermouth has the railways and Townsite is the home to the employees of the paper and pulp mill. I suppose that is where they got the name from. It is on an inlet from the Bay of Islands but that is part of the Gulf of St Lawrence. The whole town faces down towards the water and smack bang in ...

Turned out to be not such a good idea in Cornerbrook Newfoundland. Never met such friendly people, if you got near to a kerbside the traffic stopped to let you across! There was shuttle into town provided by the town, but we opted for a taxi to take us to the Captain Cook memorial high up above the town. Our taxi driver, Don Walsh, was great he actually gave us guided tour and lots of ...
