Finding our feet

... to go to a particular Fijian travel agency for advice. Actually it was interesting that we had a few Fijians sidling up to us and warn us against the aggressive tactics of the Indian shops and would point us to Fijian held businesses. We did go into the paradise tourist agency where the lovely Lydia was chatty, persuasive, and insistent. Not sure she was really helpful!! She laid it on thick about how tough it was to ...

It was like something out of a movie with an amazing view and all kinds of hammocks knotted around trees with a pool and these little shelters made out of wood. We can see why people call Fiji the happiest place on earth because everyone up to this point has been friendly, helpful and smiley. We checked in at 12pm and slept for an hour because we were still quite ...

... sitting and talking. As I
walked farther down the beach I noticed some resort-type buildings so I
thought there might be another road to the main highway. I took a
chance and walked all the way down there. Across from the resort some
people were dragging out either kayaks or some other water sports gear. Not
sure what exactly but when I finally made my way around the resorts,
cafes, etc., I saw that this was Smuggler's Cove - my ...
