... descended down our reference line (buoy line) to the site I was ecstatic to see and feel the difference in conditions, it was like chalk and cheese compared with our previous dive - barely any current and at least 25m visibility! Obviously you can't communicate in the normal way, but we all expressed our excitement and happiness with lots of OK signs and smiling as much as one can with a regulator in your mouth. As always with diving it's all down to luck, and we'd struck lucky ...

... couple of people the other side of the island at 'Turtle Bay' before continuing around the island to 'Long Beach' where we changed to a smaller boat to be taken onto the shore. The weather had also turned for the worse and dive conditions was also not to great with pretty poor visibility for most dives. Fearing the monsoon was maybe coming a tad early we was weighing up our options on whether it was time to finally leave this ...

... any English. Backpack was heavy so I took it off and had a clipboard shoved at me to fill in with information I'd I already provided so I didn't want to fill it in. Voices were raised at me, fingers pointed to the clipboard and after a while they asked me if I wanted to go with my group - geez what I was asking for in the beginning! Hot, frustrated and a little annoyed I boarded the boat with my bus group who were surprised to see me in the end, explained what happened and ...
