Sex And the City .... Not!!

We arrived in the very wee hours (5am) after a freezing 10 hour bus ride. Even multiple layers and sleeping bags weren't enough in the AC deep freezer that was our coach.

Over our 5 days in Panama City (PC) we walked the length and breadth of both the old and new parts of town ... in all weather conditions. One minute it was blazing sunshine and the next we were running for cover as the rain pummeled down. From our hostel the daily route was through the city's main artery, the Avenue ...

Bright Lights, Big City. Panama City.

... out happens alot). So we had to move on. In Panama City when you're moving from the Casco Viejo area towards the center of town, it goes from the old and dirty area, to the truly scummy area, to the dirty casino/hooker area, to the nice casino/hooker area, to the nice restaurant/bank area, to the nice quiet restaurant/ residencial area. It took us six hours of looking at hotels and catching cabs to get to the nice qiuet part of town. But. we were so hot and sick-n-tired of ...

The lock chambers are 33.5 m wide and 305 m long. The gates at the Miraflores locks are 25 m high and weigh 730 tons. A man, a plan, a canal, Panama!

... we lounged in couches and on mattresses spread throughout the room. It was a fun way to sopend our last evening in Panama. So one final thing that needed to be mentioned in this blog was the insane amount of male attention we received in Panama. In fact we were practically convinved that we had magically become about ten times hotter during our trip from Rio to Panama because we seriously could not go more than 10m down a road without getting tooted ...

Oh well. It was fun while it lasted. Then later i found a scorpion on the wall of the hostel for a bit and kept it in a glass for a while, observing it's strange behavior and seeing if it would sting a Biro..... which it didn't. And now here i am in a hostel called ...

Eli learned to dive while I chilled out, spent hours catching up on blogs and nearly ran over lizards, a snake and surprisingly aggressive road-crossing crabs, while I toured the island on a moped (I'm so getting a moped when I get to Oz!). Eli all certified up, we headed across the border to Belize to Caye Caulker to dive the famous Blue Hole. http://images.google.co.uk/images?hl=en &q=the ...
