      Come to Como

We arrived in Como after a long drive from Bassano via Verona and the Hertz office to replace, yet again, the GPS. The Neverlost might be the case on the odd occasion that it works, but without it getting lost is actually quite simple. Anyway, we found the office and a very kind man who quickly replaced the unit and we were on our way. Verona had been recommended to us as a place to visit - not sure why. It is a flat industrial city with plenty ...

      Sparkling Lights in Lugano

We arrived in this beautiful city at dusk so we weren't able to get the most out of it. Stayed there only for one hour and we spent that time in Parco Civico capturing the flickering lights of the city surrounded by mountains. The view from the shores of Lake Lugano was fascinating. It's truly a must-visit city and I'd love to go back and see it in broad daylight. ...

... We spent some time wandering around Piazza del Duomo and ended up in a pizza place. We were in Italy after all! Ofcouse we didn't forget to stroll through the infamous Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II and visited the bull for good luck. As you make a wish you have to place your heel and turn three times clockwise. Plus the couples going down to church with bottles of wine in their hands were worth admiring.     On our first ...

      First taste of Italy

Milan was the first place I set foot in when I landed in Italy. It definitely exceeded my expectations. Although we were just there for two hours, that was enough for me to get a feel of the city. The people are all fashion forwarded. Although I knew Milan is the city of fashion I never expected everyone, and I mean everyone, to be dressed so nicely. From young to old, tall to short, everyone ...

... feel. Hoping that our luggage arrives today. The problem with being in the middle of fashion central is that there is NO shop selling clothes that will fit me, that are a reasonable price, that weren't designed for a catwalk. Gorgeous but entirely impractical. Have managed to pick up a t shirt or two at a shop that mainly sells to skinny Italian teenagers. Should be interesting .......Evening of same day.......clothes arrived overnight, we ...
