Goodbye noisy polluted amazing New York, here I am, in a lovely town not far from Hudson where my Amtrak train arrived. My friend Phil came to pick me up, I will stay 4 nights with him and his family.

So nice a place to live. lots of land, to Belgian standards, the house surrounded by lawns, a little pond in the corner, trees and a little wood and even a little brook!

The house is beautiful, and a sign indicates the given name: "Linker Oever", ...

Just before leaving Mechanicville we got an email from Lock One Marina that they had still not received our filters.... at least we now knew we would be at our anchorage at a good hour! Sadly this is another town with a lot of empty store fronts and a sense of great loss from what it used to be. There are very impressive huge churches, rambling old mansions and more industry- you can tell that ...

... It is a quaint little town with refurbished buildings and beautiful flowers in urns and borders. We stopped for a few minutes to stretch and I walked through several of the shops. I was surprised at the number of ladies, mainly ladies, shopping the area. We continued through the hills of the Vermont countryside to Albany. It was a good ...

          A new adventure

After adjusting to life back here in the states, I am settled and ready to begin my Masters degree and new job. However, before the school year begins, it is time to squeeze in one more adventure. This will be the first year I am helping move my little (but taller) brother into his dorm at Belmont University in Nashville, TN. My family has been to his campus at least a half dozen times, however, I have been unable ...
