Travel Blogs by Travelers Who Stayed at the Malisa Villa Suites Hotel Phuket

Hello Phuket

Well our night out in Bangkok was less eventful than expected. There were not many people out as it was after 2 am when we finally started walking around. Everyone we did see was kind and almost looked like they belonged in their lawn furniture clusters sipping Thai beers or other exotic looking drinks. These small establishments are on the sidewalks outside of closed store fronts with no light a small stand with drinks and snacks. Everyone seemed to be in their own world talking amongst them...

Malisa Villa and Massage

naivey Sept 28, 2008 Malisa Villa Suites I thought I was dreaming this morning when I heard a doorbell ringing. After several more persistent rings I realized where I was. This hotel room came equipped with a door bell? I shook Shaun to wake him up and he leaped up out of bed like he heard the tsunami siren go off. Because of the 14hr. time difference his customers start calling and emailing around 10:00pm and don't finish their workday until 7:00am our time. Poor guy has been up most of the ...

... It's foreigners, go ahead and overcharge them, they won't know the difference". The crab was tasty but definitely a lot of work breaking the claws and shells to get to the good stuff.

After lunch, Mimi took us to a tailor shop....another unrequested stop which would require that we deal play defense with our wallets. We each had a salesman giving us individual attention and we managed to get out while only buying two shirts for me and one dress for ...

Elephant Riding in Phuket

... so we counted them....38 on one foot, 39 on the other - 77 in total! Let's just say Michelle never has itched so much in her life! We relaxed by the pool for the rest of the day where Michelle took a long nap and Mitch read. Then we took a long walk on the beach and watched the sun set. For dinner, we walked across the street and found a nice little Thai restaurant in one of the many night markets.

Reggae has never sounded sweeter

... the A/C, the room lost power. So we backed out and went to get something to eat... Later we got up the courage to ask about this little turn of events but was told the power is on from 5pm at night to 10am in the morning. It was about that time we reached the room so all was good. Again, quite cheap but more up market than a thatched room, which we heard were going for about 2.50 Australian a night. Are thinking of doing that next time we are here, as ...

Paradise is not all lost

... had everything we needed, beds, a toilet, and a shower. Perfect. We initially only booked 2 nights but the place had us hooked and we ended up staying a week. The food and drink were great and cheap too. Why would we want to leave? We went over to Ton Sai a couple of times. It had some cool shops and a nice little vibe to it. We enjoyed checking it out but couldn't wait to get back to our own little piece of paradise. I was almost getting too ...

Phi Phi Island

... various tour operators. I can not understand why they did not stagger the arrival of people, I.E. Some of the boats could have gone to Maya Bay, then others could have gone to monkey island and some boats could go to another place. This would have meant it was not so crowded. All the island’s we went to I saw the same problems.

My recommendation for anyone wanting to go to Phi Phi island is to stay well clear of ...

... is what happens when you travel and have absolutely no worries. You learn to enjoy every little thing that takes place. My time at Hat Ton Sai was among my most enjoyable in Thailand. The place was small enough that I made friends with several locals and would have conversations with them every day. One such conversation with a friend who worked as a bartender at a bar on the beach led me to realize just how lucky I am. I'm actually disappointed in myself that I cant ...
