A beautiful day in the Canary Islands

... get home! There are a lot of resorts and apartments here so I can imagine it's very popular later in the year. It was about 8.30 when we first went through the town and we learned there had been a big carnival here the night before, there were lots of people heading home in a bedraggled state still dressed up, the theme was cartoons so there were smurfs, snowwhite, Angelina ballerina, Mickey Mouse etc! We have been allocated table number 123 (easy to remember!) in the ...

... hour and a half to get to the airport, but once there, despite the sea of people we were through security in under 10 minutes! But then the waiting began... we were the lucky ones, 'only' delayed 6 hours.

When we finally arrived in Tenerife we quickly found out what happens when you arrive late at night to a place where Christmas is mostly celebrate on the 24th! There were no taxis and no one around to help. Eventually a few ...
