... Ubud again, and went to a monkey forest. It was cool but definitely not something I would do again. There were monkeys everywhere, and the literally stole things from people's bags. They also climb on people and apparently a lot of people have been bitten. I bought some peanuts for myself and I was standing outside of the entrance, and a monkey literally left the sanctuary and grabbed the peanuts from me and ate it in the middle of the street. One of the big highlights on my itinerary was Chiang Rai, wher the White Temple stands. From Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai is a 3 hour bus ride, so we decided to spend the night there.
A morning spent faffing meant we did not manage to get a bus until late afternoon, so we did not arrive until early evening, giving us a free evening to chill out and leaving us a full day the next day for templing.

... a state of mind. We tend to seek happiness, when happiness is a choice. In the evening, we decided to eat dinner at a fancy resort just outside of the village, the Maekok River Village Resort. The food was excellent, a bit more pricy than the food in town, but still relatively affordable, the cost of the meal was under $40. Tomorrow we are booked for a 3 hour boat ride down the Kok River from Thaton to Chiang Rai.

We headed west of Chiang Rai and into the mountains, driving for about 40 minutes by car.
