    I'm in Brazil. What.

... it on a 7 hour flight. So there. When I woke up, I looked out my window and saw clouds. But I looked out the window on the opposite side of the plane and saw one of the most vivid, beautiful sunrises I've ever seen in my life. The orange glow that was shining above the horizon was unlike anything I've ever seen before. Wow. Looking out my own window again as we descended, I saw the city of São Paulo. I promise you, I'm not exaggerating when I say that I've never ...

... a host of salesmen who wander around the fan fest with coolers selling chilled beers. Lovely. Despite a fairly boring 0-0 draw the atmosphere is so manic that you wouldn't really have noticed. After the game we leave the fan fest (as you would probably think is normal) but as we get out it appears we have missed a trick as music starts blaring and we are descended upon by thousands of brazilians who unbeknownst to us had been locked out of the fan fest during the game as it was ...

I remembered seeing while on our walk one morning, a French bakery and so tracked it down. This is where I had a delicious ...

... were packed with shoppers. There were quite a few Brazil party supply and novelty stores in this neighbourhood. Oh how we could have used these during Carnival!

After asking a number of times for directions to the market we finally found it. It was in a lovely building with amazing stained glass windows. There were fruit vendors, fish, meat, spices, cheeses, restaurants, souvenirs, nuts, you name it! I tried the fruit from the ...

    ... Falls!

São Paulo with the locals... Lisa and Rafi live really close to the famous Ibapapuera park, one of the only parks in São Paulo and the we both comment that it feels a bit like LA, large blocks hosting condominiums and restaurants and cafes on every corner. On day one we managed to stumble upon a Carnival warm up street party in Vila Magdelena! It was a crazy crush of hundreds of people in fancy dress, drinking beer in the sunshine and dancing to the distant music ...
