... In the lobby we were greeted by Monica, who gave us a little tip about dinner and checks in Brazil – always ask for the check when the waiter serves the main course, and the tip came in handy already that night, when Sargam, Haz and I went to dinner at the hotel. We also ordered our first Caipirinha, which was the perfect welcome to Brazil! Straight after dinner (at 10pm) we went to bed and it was fantastic (and needed) to get a full ...

... running, cycling, playing tennis etc all over the place, it has huge playgrounds and gigantic trees with huge roots which look like something out of a mystical fairytale! There are also lots of exhibition spaces and a giant skate park; all in all a very easy place to get lost in as Katie and I find on a run a few days later!

... I was taking in- and then I would be able to churn out amazing reflections on my surroundings filled with great insight and observation like the great philosphers.

So the insight - I did hope that I’d gain a real insight into South America and be able to write something stunning about it but I’m not too sure how much I really got to grips with it all (it probably would have helped if I’d actually read the couple of books on South ...
