    Wet and windy night, had to get up at 4am and close the en suite window! Took bus to OIA and walked around town for an hour. Left at 11am and bumped into our old friends Christine & Malcolm Miller who are staying there for the week. Ernie and Betty decided it was not the walk for them so took taxi back to resort. At lunch whilst sheltering from the wind we watched our 4th wedding picture shoot ...

    ... the beach front to Perivolos - the beach here has black sand and the crowd is definitely younger, with heaps of cool bars and restaurants you can see how this is a party area - we almost wish we had stayed down here for a night ;-) Denham let me ride the quad all the way home - did I mention how much fun it is!

    Once back at the hotel we relaxed by the pool before getting ready for the evening.

    ... We chose, instead to walk along the strand to get further down the shoreline. So many restaurants had dozens and dozens of chairs open and waiters standing in front trying to entice us to choose their place. We brought our own little lunch of sandwiches and fruit, so we declined, but thought it might be good to come back to this place at the end of our day if we didn't find a better place to eat dinner.We met a nice couple from Albany celebrating their ...

    ... the weather had improved and we took a walk around Fira. It does literally cling to the side of the caldera, a tumble of predominantly white painted houses, but also pink, orange, red and blue, in all different hues and shades. Amongst this abundance of colour sat white and cream churches with bold blue domes. The houses, all with rounded edges with barrel shaped roofs....just beautiful.

    Maddox who is the four year old son of Deb’s cousin taught the groom a valuable lesson today, you shouldn’t swear in front of children.
