Up at first light again to await the arrival of the Mexican pickers. A professional team that should rattle through the vines in no time at all! We spot lights in the distance and go to meet Alfredo and his team... Hmmmm.... His wife, mother, son and his sons friend... Not quite what we were expecting.. Anyway.. The pick.. Later in town I got talking to some locals who were telling me that Lakeport is so much nicer than Clear Lake as it does have the problems of Clear Lake. I assumed they meant the weather or the wind direction so I asked what problems.

"You know, in Clear Lake everyone is on crystal meth, crack cocaine or heroine. There is much less of that here" "oh, that's nice" I politely replied.
