... And it has a disproportionate number of statues for a city its size. They have a statue of everything. I am pretty sure they made a statue of the guy who made all the statues. Just for giggles. The Alexander statue there is...great.... But nah really, its huge and quite interesting. He is pretty much a national hero, I don't think anything too exciting has happened to Macedonia since Alexander conquered the world. But it was a pretty cool place to stop off!

As I wait for my bags, I'm wasting no time getting back into Americana mode. I started the stay off with take out Chinese food, and have had caramel iced coffee a bagel and salad with American dressing since. These are cravings I've had for the last year. I've been driving around and can't wait to shop for little putzy things that aren't available abroad. Amazing how quickly one acclimates back to old habits!

... plenty of lightning and thunder combined with heavy rain. Not the weather to go sightseeing or poking around archeological ruins so we made just a short trip to see the dam and gorge on the Treska River. This is a popular place for recreation in the summer months.

... to have random people yell out a mixture of "Japany", "Kina",and "Thailand" at me and Ann whilst walking around - Whilst his guess was impressive, my favourite to date has been being called Jamaican. Another highlight of our foray here was a confused Turkish kebab shop owner asking me quizzically "what is falafel?" whilst we were on the hunt for vegetarian options.

... today are of poor quality because we stayed on the freeway all day, driving through Macedonia in a couple hours, One more hour for customs (out of Greece into Macedonia out of Macedonia into Serbia) and the ever present toll booths.
