    ... sensible people, (Jen kicked the end of her bed last night and has badly bruised toes..I think she'll live) Further around the island we stopped at the famous surf beach The Banzai Pipeline, ( the water was calm!), then onto a shrimp lunch ( J, G & Ian had pork). Many miles later, past many beautiful beaches and through some rugged mountains, we arrived back, tired, but pleased to have seen the country part of the island.     ... instead of 1/2h it took us 1h to get to Kailua, where we had an airbnb booking. Kailua, as small town at the Oahu east side gave us the relaxed atmosphere we were looking for, in the same time very close to all attractions and capital. 2 great doggies made us happy and pool let us cool down at the end of the day.

    ... A beautiful day, very good lunch, lovely views over a beautiful golf course to the sea. One to remember.

    W&W were flying home later direct from Maui to Vancouver and our flight was in the afternoon to Honolulu, then back to Auckland, Queenstown and finally Wanaka.

    Lovely to be home again after a most memorable celebration of my birthday with our wonderful friends.
