... But getting into the water over all those stones and pebbles was not very easy!!!! We walked along the beach to Olympos and found the tree houses where Judy and Dave stayed all those years ago. The tree houses were still vey much the same with not too many changes excepting for the rates!!!!!We spent about 3 hours at Olympus sitting at one of the many shady little restaurants where we enjoyed an ice cold beer and half a melon filled with 3 scoops of creamy icecream!!! Well we finally swam in the Mediterranean. The water is very clear, temperature was perfect, calm sea...no waves, but I needed my sandals to cope with the very pebbly shore! Did I know there wouldn't be much sand? We are spoilt! Yesterday we walked to the Chimaera...up a mountainside to where fire still burns from crevices in the rocks, it was recommended we visit at night to get the full effect. Thankfully we walked up in daylight and back in the early evening ...

Long car trip today - about 8 hours. Lots of different topography along the way. Once we were out of the Goreme Valley we were into rolling hills and eventually a large flat plain. Lots of agriculture because the ground water is not far below the surface so they are able to irrigate the land which is very fertile volcanic ash.
