As great as Italy was, I couldn't wait to enter Greece. This stop is the main reason why I chose this itinerary. We had 1 night in Athens then a ferry ride to Mykonos for 3 nights. The road into Athens was a curvy 2 lane road on the coast. We entered Athens and went straight to see the acropolis! It was a good 15 minute hike to the top, but each step was magical in the sense that mankind had been walking those same steps ...
... One consists of a pyramid shaped rock on top of which there is a small church. I wonder how many worshipers can make it up that rock to church.
At Stari Bar (star means old) we climbed around the partly reconstructed fortress and old walled town. With a burst of enthusiasm that lasted long enough to put up some signs and do a bit of rebuilding this reconstruction project started in 1985, had come to a stop. I think it’s a long time ...
... ship yesterday and went for a tour around Athens and headed to Perveza in Northern Greece.
Today we drove into Albania, which is very interesting, the toilets are just a hole in the ground and its still a developing country so its not very nice, but its kinda cool.
Well we have another driving day tomorrow to Croatia, where we will be able to drink the water again hopefully and have regular toilets again.
... hostel you easily make up with cheap everything IE: sandwiches for 1 dollar.
I must say i do like my hostel the manager was Extremely helpful in explaining to me how to get to Macedonia tomorrow (not much info via the lonely planet or online)
As well the cleaning lady despite lacking English is very sweet and helpful all with a smile

... the nearest pub though; the guy was supposed to be back in Ohrid on the same day, in order to tell his friends what he`d "achieved"... We had walked a pretty long distance when the first car that was driving in that empty road stopped for us and took to the town. And there I can tell we saw an actual Albanian folklore - muddy roads, beautiful mountains surrounding the place, but also all-embracing poverty. And because of the poverty people can ...
