      The White Star Line was the shipping company who were the owners of the Titanic together with the Olympic. They were in major competition with Cunard and part of the reason why Titanic was built to be the larger liner of the time, however there were so many contributory factors to the sad fact that Titanic sank on her maiden voyage to New York from Southampton after hitting an iceberg on 14 April 1912.
