OMG! Wifi!!! (Ack! no message keyboard) More later

... about, I stumbled upon a very tres, tres chic hotel with wifi in the lobby! Thus, with my trusty little iPod I was able to swiftly log in here and post an entry. Horse riding, fish market and a punch up

... exception to the other driver talking to John and suddenly the two drivers start throwing punches at each other – serious fighting and then a few of the other drivers standing around see this as an opportunity to join in, so before we know it we’re in the middle of a taxi driver fight!! It eventually gets split up and we jump in a taxi and go to the main square. The riad we are staying in this time is within the souks themselves, its around 11pm by the time we ...

Stepping back in time

... The road to Essaouira is partly along the coast where some huge waves attract surfers, but at 17 degrees water temperature at this time of the year, it appears somewhat pale compared to Hawaii. So I guess they come here if Daddy's cheque didn't arrive in time for the flight to Honolulu. Essaouira is a town with a great atmosphere. It is right next to the coast, a walled city that looks unchanged ...

Essouria, a restful change from Marrakech

... of breed and olives (black standard and flavoured); with a serve of Moroccan Mint-tea. The total cost was 125dh, or less than 12 euro (24 australian); and we were both so full!To walk off dinner we decided to head for the beach at night. We learnt the beach is fully lit; it appears it has been designed to accommodate night swimming in the summer months. Tomorrow we plan to explore the Medina in more detail. The cost of food at restaurants is low, and the markets are ...

CHAPTER 5 - PARIS-DAKAR? YOU MUST BE ENGLISH!

May 17th KM START = 14,701 (Trip = 4,331 ) KM END = 14,866 (Trip =4,496 ) Route: Marrakesh > Essaouira Today is the day where I realise that either: a) we have been completely spoilt, or b) my tank of geographic superlatives has run dry after only 2 weeks. The ride from Marrakesh to the Atlantic Coast is truly forgettable for me, but Pierpaolo is impressed by the vast expanses of nothing ...
