... busy season it wasn't more than 110 Euro. For the view it had, and it's character, I think it might certainly be worth a stay sometime. Again though, that was really all I did for the duration of the day - rode bicycle, swam, and was rather happy with that. When I finally got back to the room, I jumped in the shower, and prepared my things for an easy (and early) departure in the morning. I knew I needed to start thinking ...
Praslin Island, Seychelles Islands excope... car I had previously rented is waiting for us in the parking lot. Even better, Neal was able to arrange the rental of a local home for our last night in the Seychelles. As we say goodbye to Monkey Puzzle, we know that we still have one more day to explore the Seychelles and that we did with lunch at the ...
Victoria, Mahe Island, Seychelles Islands gmanvento... The coral heads are some of the best I’ve seen on the trip, making for a fine snorkel.

Once back on the boat, we half-heartedly attempt to set a stern anchor so that we’d have our bow set into the waves which caused a substantial amount of roll our first night. Feeling we were setting it too close ...
Sainte Anne Island, Seychelles Islands gmanvento... a small bonito caught again by Lisa. As we round the northern point of Mahe’, the wind begins to build to 30k (katabolic effect off the high mounts) coming almost due south right on our nose. We roll-up the job and reef the main as we motor sail directly into the wind to anchor in the designated area off Beau Vallon Beach.

It’ ...

Perfect conditions for a snorkel at Ille Coco, so we rev-up the motor for our 10M trip to Ille Coco.

Once we get the anchor in, we immediately head off swimming to snorkel the west and south side of the island. It’s like being in an aquarium with hundreds of ...
Praslin Island, Seychelles Islands gmanvento... high cliffs about 100m to our south.

The high winds never materialized, nor the rain, but, the sea was sending 1-2m waves into our beam from around the northern point of the bay. Thinking they would eventually subside and expecting a severe hit of wind, we stayed. In hindsight, it probably would have been wiser to go anchor further into the bay, clear of the ...
Praslin Island, Seychelles Islands gmanvento... sailing in rather than spend another suffocating night in the anchorage. In hindsight, it might have been wiser to remain protected in Baie St. Anne as I had gotten lazy and was no longer checking the local weather forecast. But, not knowing what was coming, we left again for a lovely “faralla” sail to Anse Petit Cour with 9-12k tradewinds at our stern.
<br ...

La Réunion, Seychelles Islands gmanvento... fly. Either way, I am still constantly breaking the mental chains that once bound me , locking me into society and the subsequent depression associated with the system. I feel I made a narrow escape. I had my role quite set out for me. Narrow or not, however, an escape is an escape, and now I am filled with life, adventure and really feel alive for the first time. I can only get stronger, wiser and ever more skilled in the ways of the hawk from here.....
Victoria, Mahe, Seychelles Islands realisme_33... and a booking number, but have to pick up the ticket at the airport before the flight. Tee up a 5.45 taxi for tomorrow, find that we can get an early breakfast, and, with our chores done, pack the car and head out over the pass and down into Victoria. There is not a lot of traffic on the road over the top, and we drop steeply down into Victoria, and the one-way streets around the market and down to the waterfront, where we pick up ...
