    We are slowly wandering South. The aires in Savoie are not wonderful. Some are just scraps of land where the commune has put a Borne for which you have to buy tokens or taped off the electric points. We left Challes and drove just 30 km to La Cheylas. Reasonable aire, but noisy. Trains about half a mile away across a field and right next to a busy road. We only stayed for a night. Now we are at a campsite right on a lake.     Also we found out that politics is the same in Canada and UK in terms of taxation, housing etc, etc, so no shocks there.
    We think this is a centre for winter sports in the, er, winter but it is a nice city to visit in the spring too, except that on the day we chose, after the 24hr rain spell, it was quite cold needing our coats (not allowed on this trip but thank goodness we showed True Brit and came prepared!)

We were shown some young chicks, and tasted asparagus and apricot juice. The next was a farm specialising in pogne, a bread with cranberries in it.
