... hectic tourist season. Only a handful of the locals would remain on the island over the "winter" season.

After carefully exploring the ladies clothing shop, Linda agreed it was time to stop for lunch. I was curious about the wine as I had heard that there was some excellent wine on the island. We made our way back to the little, narrow main shopping street and headed upwards and west until we ran into a lively, multi-leveled taverna. Checking out the menu it seemed like ...

... area.
Fortunately there were only two cruise ships in today (not the five
we experienced on a previous trip) so it was pleasantly quiet. There

Ah Santorini. Santorini is beautiful. It took us 7 hours ferry from Athens to reach here. In one of the high speed ferries that looked more like an airplane. Not the most comfortable trip but hey we got there and they were the only tickets left available to us. Cost us 50 euro. And it was pretty damn hot. Our hotel was called Porto Perissa and was small family owned hotel. It wasn't flash but it was comfortable and the pool and our rooms were always clean. The only annoyance ...

... about getting lost, but we backed ourselves and made it through the town centre and all the way to Oia - the cliff high point were the famous sunset is viewed from. Day or night Santorini is just beautiful, especially when you get close to the peak. We kept driving, not really knowing where we were going but ended up at a little bay called Amoudi. A pretty little spot which loved it octopus. There was octopus in every restaurant window and even just hanging up on a line. As ...
