    ... I had booked a tour of Secrets of the Palais des Papes. I grabbed some lunch of ham and cheese crepes, dropped my bag at the hotel and whizzed around the corner to the Palais. There were five of us on the tour with an English speaking guide – two Americans and three Aussies. It was a fabulous tour. The guide knew her stuff and spoke excellent colloquial English.     Out of bed to breakfast in a plastic box, courtesy of the local supermarket. Alan missing his daily bread. Then a walk to Marseille railway station to pick-up the car. Took a while to figure out how to turn it on and then to get it into drive - 'hybrid'. Then back to the pub to pickup up bags and off we went.     Up for leisurely breakfast then off to Avignon. GPS on but more wary of her and a few times disregarded what she said and we were ok. Got to Avignon and again the main headache is finding a parking place. Saw a parking building so went in. The ramps to go up were so narrow sometimes we had to have a couple of goes to get car in right position to fit. No parks till the 6 th floor.!!! We have a Holden opal wagon.....we ...

    ... cheeses, wine, a couple of artists and in a courtyard there was an art exhibition. So a wee bit to see but they were packing up so just a quick browse.
