We spent our first night at the Holiday Inn Express in Belle Vernon, across from Hoss's.
We started the next day with an early morning breakfast at Eat'nPark with our PA friends. After breakfast, we went to see my Dad and grand parents' graves, and then we hit the road.
For the first part of our trip, we took the back roads through Mt Pleasant, Donegal, and more. At Breezewood we got on to the turnpike for the rest of the ride.
Aug 25-28 JNM (Sam in NY with Tony camping) Enjoyed our 3 night stay at Kate and Nik's: 5131 Penn Ave. Reminded us of the apt building in Alex. We did the Duck Tour, saw a lot of sights, Squirrel Hill walk around, bought teas, watched RedBox movies, and Highland Park. Not impressed with the slum feeling. Took 4 hours without traffic. ... thus beating Venice by 3! It also boasts 3 rivers all merging in one corner: the Monongahela, the first one we rode on, merges with the Ohio, and round the corner the boat then went up the Allegheny.This city's wealth was built on it's steel industry, so the rivers were very necessary in shipping the cargo. Today we saw a barge being towed with an unknown cargo, so I'm pleased to see that it still is utilised.

After lunch I stopped in Pittsburgh for the Carnegie Museum of Art-- I highly recommend it!
Next I went for a beautiful trail run at Beaver Creek State Park in Ohio... also took a quick bath in my swimsuit as a true Burho ...
... and the sheer scale of the contents) but I would not like to be the museum's curator responsible for sorting out all those boxes! I did get to see his iconic Yves St Laurent safari jacket and speaking of clothes there was also a special exhibition on Warhol's relationship with Halston, an American milliner and fashion designer (he made the pillbox hat that Jacqueline Kennedy wore to her husband's presidential inauguration).
