... mobile workplaces. On reflection Roanoke had been a good choice to stay for the conclusion of our holiday. It was a small city/town, going about it's business, nestled in a valley between the mountains of Virginia and we felt at home here and took it easy. Tomorrow will be an early start as we set off to Washington Airport and the return of the hire car. We have booked a night in an airport hotel before our flight on Friday lunch time. ...
The Blue Ridge Parkway runs for 469 miles from Tennessee in the south up to Northern Virginia. It's highest point 6047 feet, soon after the highway commences. Some in suits and some in uniform, some with bulletproof vests on. Concierge said that Obama was attending the conference to give the Keynote speech. Hung around but didn't see him enter. Very posh hotel. Had Rudy Valley play at it, Beatles stayed there and lots of Presidents and other famous people. Today we went out to ...
