Spent the day with the realtor in Venice. We now know this drive of an hour down and an hour back, by heart. Saw 6 properties, 3 of which would be great EXCEPT... The little gray house in our realtor's neighborhood. Beautifully redone inside, could be bought with the furniture, has a pool, you can walk/bike to the beach BUT the price is close to $300,000 and the neighborhood is very mixed. Some properties are a little run down, while others have had some updating and it ...
... out of cars, blinking in the sun, wrinkled and tired but smiling because "we are here!". The dog park people are full of advice on how to deal with THE TRAFFIC. "If you need anything off island you have to go very early in the morning or after dark." " if you want to go out to eat you need to do it during the week or very early or late at night". When we arrived at the castle Courtney and I took the walk up the hill to reach it and at the top we waited for Mickey and Ann to arrive via horse and carriage. We all took a fantasy like tour thru this mystical castle, ...
... one to fly right into our kayak! Maybe they were attracted to the light colour of our kayak. We found out later these fish are called mullet and are born with a lung as the waters are low in oxygen...maybe the mangroves take much of the oxygen. It is wonderful to watch this display of flying fish, egrets, great white herons, brown pelicans and yellow crowned night-herons. On the beaches we have seen a dolphin close up...Frances will be pleased ...
