    Today we left Yellowstone behind and enjoyed a trip through mountains and valleys to the Triple Creek Lodge in Darby Mt. We visited the Roosevelt Arch at the North Entrance to Yellowstone, followed the Yellowstone, Gallatin, and Bitterroot rivers as we made our way to the Bitterroot Mountains in Mt.     We left Glacier National Park as we found it: cold, wet and shrouded in wispy clouds. It made it easier to say good-bye since it wasn't good hiking weather anyway. After four days, it was time to move on and we were looking forward to seeing long-time friends, Mikey and Debbie Reid.

    ... however, as the roads consisted of mountain twisties and sweepers separated by traverses across intervening valley floors. (Other western states could certainly learn from Montana's speed limit - 70 mph even on secondary and tertiary roads - roads other states would downgrade to 55 mph.)
