    ... to come back to sample.  We were surprised by how many historic wooden houses resembling turn of the century New England homes made up Stevensville especially after the rest of our drive through Montana consisted mostly of remote farm houses or trailers.  Many houses were freshly painted and landscaped with colorful flowers.  It was picturesque.     ... however, as the roads consisted of mountain twisties and sweepers separated by traverses across intervening valley floors. (Other western states could certainly learn from Montana's speed limit - 70 mph even on secondary and tertiary roads - roads other states would downgrade to 55 mph.)
