We found our beachside campsite in Hiawatha Park of Lake Michigan just ten miles or so after crossing the Mackinaw Bridge. We are on the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. We woke up a little later today but got the campsite packed up and got on the road by our planned departure time. Today we headed to our furthest north destination, Tahquamenon Falls near Paradise, Michigan, in the Upper Peninsula. ... from. We enquired at one but their rates appeared to be quite high - paying for being on the lake front and having access to a spa and Jacuzzi. The hotel we chose was much cheap and the room is huge as is the bed - king size.
We had a lovely fresh white fish dinner at a little cafe at a fish factory. the fish had been caught this morning and cleaned and prepared out the back. Was a very popular place and some of the diners were known by name.
