      ... and have been living in a van for 12 years also arrived in Silves yesterday. So we have booked to go out for Christmas lunch together so we wont feel quite so lonely.
      Silves is also an ancient town with moors and Christians fighting since Noah,s time. Although there are lots of people in the camp, the town is not that touristy.       I'll admit, living in the Rockies and along the Pacific Ocean had me thinking I had seen what the world has to offer when it comes to natural beauty. Lagos totally took us by surprise with it's turquoise waters, surreal sandstone formations, adrenalin inducing cliffs and wacky hostel buddy (Hugo).       Silves (sounds like Silvesh) is a lovely town. We drove from Portimao about 20 kms. Castello was interesting, built by the moors (Arabs) including a 1.2m litre water tank dug in the rock. Now you can walk inside. Used for over a 1000 years and retired in 1980's. Not bad ...
