I STAYED AT THE HOLIDAY INN, EXPRESS ON SOUTH FRONTAGE ROAD WHEN I WAS IN VICKSBURG.

THIS WAS THE CLEANEST AND MOST PROFESSIONAL ATMOSPHERE, AND HAD A GREAT STAFF.

THE ROOMS ARE VERY COMFORTABLE. VERY HELPFUL STAFF AND THEY HAVE A BUSINESS CENTER, EXERCISE ROOM AND A VERY CLEAN AND EXCELLENT BREAKFAST AREA.

On monday morning we got up early and toured the Vicksburg Military park, depicting a batttle for the Mississippi during the Civil war. there were lots of memorial stautues and a museum. In the afternoon we stoped in Indianola seeing the museum about BB King, continuing on to Clarksdale Ms seing the delta blues museum where muddy waters and other blues players had lived in the area

Glen returned from Illinois where he visited his mother in the hospital. She had traveled by car with Glen's oldest sister to visit their youngest sister. While there she fell, broke her hit, was admitted to the hospital and underwent hip replacement surgery. She was progressing nicely so Glen returned home. She suffered a heart attack the same day he left and went down hill from there. We drove in the RV to Ilinois as quickly as possible but she passed about 5 hours ...

... of synthetic chemicals proportionately over the rest of the country. Go Figure! So I bike the 75 miles or so between Vicksburg and Natchez in 8 hours. I would say thats making steam. I run across two bicycling young ladies headed to Nashville from Naw'lins. [names to be added] I wanted to persuaded them to come with me, but I mean, come on... So I am hitting the wall by the time MM 15 comes up, and worse ...

... as it is to me, always check the connector BEFORE you unpack and get settled in the room. The little clip that gives a proper connection seems to get broken off by careless people. It turned cold just as we were leaving, but we were so awe struck by the color on the side of the mountians that we did not care. ... we walked down Vicksburg's quaint main street and stopped for a look in a fabulous dress shop - Laura is still trying to find that perfect little party number for the big event in November. Has a pool (which is a necessity I have decided) and wonderful laundry and even give you a free breakfast down at the casino which is situated right on the Mississippi. The police remained with flashing lights while we picked up the broken bike and tied it down extra well, all the time I felt like a real idiot and the flashing lights were calling attention to the fact. As it turned out we got a beautiful waterfront site at the park and have decided to stay two nights, both Jo and I felt we needed some time to recover.
