... each heat raced again for the final round. Oreo came out with gusto and won while Brownie being the dainty girl, slowly and in her own time finished in second. A win win for the Newby girls. Felicity won a new cage for Oreo and of course we could not leave the store without buying a few things to make a hamsters life more comfortable. ... museum Thursdays to visit the Museum of Natural History, the Menil Collection and the Photography Museum.

We spent a great day at NASA. I loved it, Dessa maybe not so much. I believe she needs to watch a lot more Star Trek in order to properly appreciate it. This suggestion was not well received but she did agree to re-watch Apollo 13. :-)

... for kids, food and entertainment. The retired couples demonstrating some line dance moves were adorable. They wore red, white and blue outfits and were really having quite a hoe down. We were all getting baked in the sun so we didn't stick around for closing but got an eyeful! ...

... is the world’s tallest war monument, in memory of the battle that basically won Texas back from Mexico – remember the Alamo? (another story - thank you John Wayne). There is loads of info about the battle and a little history if you care to search here.

We were keen to go up to the nearly 500ft high viewing deck within the monument for the views.
