I started the week in Geneva because of work. During my weekly Skype call with my parents, they mentioned my brother would be leaving for Paris the next morning. Nice of him to tell me! I called him but couldn't get a hold of him, so tried again in the morning. By the time I was awake on Monday, he was in bed for the night, but luckily he woke up and answered the phone. He told me he had a free day on Wednesday with no plans so this would be a good day for us to ...
Strasbourg, Alsace, France travelingdivaFeatured Excursion: Strasbourg canal cruise<br>Optional Tour: Haute Königsburg<br><br>"See Strasbourg the way it has been seen through the centuries—on a canal cruise. In addition to viewing the town's covered bridges, medieval watchtowers and modern building that houses the European Parliament, you will see "Petite France," a picturesque district that seems as if it has been lifted from the pages of a fairy tale"<br><br>(To be continued)<br>
Strasbourg, Alsace, France jdeinken... or shower curtains? No matter how careful you are, the floor gets soaked every time. Do they all take baths?<br><br>Pam and Glenn Said:<br><br>You could definitely tell the German influence here at this border town. What an interesting city on the L’Ill River. We had a great time walking around the old city where Glenn enjoyed a traditional stew of three different kinds of meat. (If he knew what was in it, he probably wouldn’t have eaten it.)
Strasbourg, Alsace, France leandroop... hotel is a big picture of the little prince AND apparently the rooms are decorated after different themes from the book. I didn't get to go in but someday I will definitely stay there. <br>I also saw my first movie in a German theatre which was really cool...I saw Up, I liked it but obviously didn't understand much. Anyway, I definitely recommend it...even just for a few hours!
Baden-Baden, Baden-Württemberg, Germany katerilalaineLast leg of the European jaunt and we've decided to try out the Black Forest...the bad weather was the final nail in the coffin and after 3 days of dripping foggy weather, we decided to jack in the caravan and head to Octoberfest, but more of that later.<br><br>So a quick trip to a 500 yr old stud farm started by King Wilhelm the 1st, where they breed beautiful Black Forest horses and Arabs then, Baden Baden to take in the sights of this thermal spa town and ...
Baden-Baden, Baden-Württemberg, Germany sarahandstutour... tarte flambée contains only bacon and onions. We decided to take it to the next level where they also add cheese as a topping. It was delicious! We completed our meal with French beer, Kronenbourg, which is everywhere here (though I have drank it in Canada as well). After lunch we started our second audio tour but were tired of walking long before it was completed. We had visited many important buildings outside of the ...
Strasbourg, Alsace, France travelingdivaWe caught the wrong train and wound up in Gengenbach. While we were waiting for a train back we met a lady who told us the town had a beautiful old-town section. So we went discovering again. After a good look around we stopped at a pub while we were waiting for the next train and got talking to the owner. Turns out he'd been to Australia on holiday, so we had a good time talking to him until it was time to go.
Gengenbach, Baden-Württemberg, Germany danandroz... you to jump in and jump out. I missed the warmed-towel station and ended up making a wet mess on the floor in the lotion room, where the attendant reprimanded me for it. I sheepishly apologized, hoping that he wouldn't punish me by using hard brushes to scrub off my nipples. I applied lotion to myself, like the instructions suggested, but was disappointed that they didn't import any gorgeous German girls from Hamburg to help with this ...
Baden-Baden, Germany pwong... than other cities I've been in. It could've been because of the nice stores and well-dressed people or the white stone and marble everywhere (most German cities have darker or red stone). We walked to Lichtental Strasse- a beautiful street along the Oos River with spas on one side of the river and a spacious park with trees, fountains, and statues on the other. We sat on a bench at the end of the park and watch all of the 'well-to-do' people of ...
