... left to drive to Bari to catch our ferry. While it was a pretty large ferry I was still pretty unsure how I would cope all night on a boat. I decided to have dinner really early in the hope that my stomach would settle. A couple of us got chatting to some people who had done a Contiki tour when it first started and it was interesting to hear about their experiences. The trulli are built on the hillsides so there was a lot of walking up and down hills. This was a 3 mile + day but very worthwhile.

... very nicely dressed. I've seen quite a few black Africans down this way although probably not as many as I thought I would. I imagine there's quite a few trying to get to Europe from Africa, legally or not. Made it to the hostel - Olive Tree Hostel. It's quite nice and the receptionist is very helpful. Good bed and a lockable locker. Multisex 6 bed dorm. Went out to get some dinner. Had the best piece of pizza so far. Yum! Day 2 - ...
