    Magic Hotel

I've Been going to Skiathos for the last 12 years, twice a year if poss, sometimes 3 times, waheyy. Stay at the Magic most of the time if its available. Excellent location, excellent views, very clean and tidy, great management and staff, all really friendly. Big hotel but still family run with a good attitude towards helping their clients. They also have a Restaurant down the road with the bar attached to the side of it, Platanius is the name, great atmosphere, full of great staff and clients that just want to be happy and relaxed, enjoy the cocktails chaps. The great thing about Paraskevi is that it is situated bang in the middle of Skiathos Town and Koukounaries, so it makes both areas easily accessible for beach time and nightlife if you so desire. All i can say is that most people that visit Skiathos and the Magic Hotel are normally regulars, and to me, that says it all. As someone once said, i liked the company so much i bought it, i'm back there next week, check it out.

    Room with a view

The title describes all the rooms in this friendly ,well deserved 4star Hotel, even at breakfast the you can sit and watch the sea ,if your lucky maybe a dolphin or two in the quieter months of the season.Having been very fortunate to find this Hotel ,and being made so at home,we have returned as often as possible. This year an added bonus of matteress on the sun loungers making it difficult to move away from the pool, with it's jacuzzi. The family and staff at the Magic give their utmost to ensure you have a holiday to remember, good greek hospitality. For any -one visiting Skiathos here is a hotel not to be missed. Book direct you will not find this gem in any brochure.

    Words are not enough

Words really do not do justice to what can be seen and described on the hotel website.

To travel from the grey granite and skies of Aberdeen in Scotland we rely on past experience of whats on offer at the hotel rather than the website of the Magic Hotel.

As attractive as what the website describes, the old saying "seeing is believing" is very apt here.

We had yet another magic year at the Magic Hotel. We have never stayed at any other hotel on the Island because we are so happy with what the Magic Hotel has to offer.

More than just fascilities make up the experience of an enjoyable holiday. For example the service of the staff at the hotel, second to none. One feels an individual and not just a room number.

There is never any pressure whatsoever to spend time or money on the fantastic restaurant at either the hotel or the Taverna Platanais owned by the same people and just a short stroll from the hotel.

The problem with giving such a glowing account is that we may find ourselves not being able to get a booking for next year. Be rest assured this is a hotel that will become a regular for those who choose to holiday on the Island.

As with all things in life criticism is easy. However what criticisms that could be levelled at the Magic Hotel experience are mere personal choice issues e.g. that the complimentary shampoo be scented. Big deal!!!

There is no doubt in our minds that the Magic Hotel is an important player in the overall enjoyment of our holiday.

    Absolute Magic

The Magic hotel is ideally positioned for fantastic views of the island. In the morning, you can sit on your balcony with amazing sea views. A buffet breakfast with hot and cold selection is provided in the hotel restaurant after which, you can either chose to relax by the pool (which includes a jacuzzi, children's pool and comfortable sun loungers) or go down to the beach (which is a 5 minute stroll) and has a variety of water sports. Alternatively you can hop on a bus (bus stop is 5 minutes from the hotel) which can take you to either ends of the island. Skiathos town has a variety of cafes and shops selling handmade artifacts from Greece. In the evening, the Magic hotel opens its restaurant, serving traditional dishes and fresh fish. Alternatively you can stroll down to the Platanias Taverna and Bar (also owned by the Magic), where you will be greeted by friendly multi-lingual staff. The atmosphere in the bar is great and most evenings will be spent having a laugh with the other customers and staff. Once you visit Skiathos you will want to return and if you do, the only place to stay is the Magic, as the you won't get the combination of great views, friendly and helpful staff, clean, modern bedrooms and a fantastic pool anywhere else!!!

    Simply Magic

Just back from our two weeks stay in this wonderful Hotel, the place was absolutely spotless towels changed every day, sheets changed every other

day, free room safe, free air-con, fridge, hairdryer, bath and shower.

Trying to think of a single fault but i cant.

The staff were very friendly and would do anything to oblige.

The new pool area complete with Jacuzzi and childrens pool are fantastic with lawned terraces complete with hardwood relaxers and large Parasols and a view across Platanias Bay.

The new accomodation block has some up market rooms with four poster beds and Jacuzzi.

The whole place is a credit to the owners and staff who have worked hard and are obviously very proud of this Magic Place.

A lovely hotel, great new pool, nice people.

    Can't wait to return.

    Magic in the air

What can I say??? The name of the hotel "MAGIC" just says it all. The staff, the setting, the view, the service, it's all just wonderful. We stayed there this summer for the first time and are looking forward to going back again next year. You have to book direct which has it advantages as you are not bothered by holiday reps once you get there. They offer great deals, the amount we paid for a week's holiday + flights worked out roughly the same as what the travel agents were offering. During our holiday we spoke to various people who were staying elsewhere and were not happy with their accommodation. We count ourselves lucky for choosing the Magic hotel. Why don't you try it.........

    Excellent Friendly Hotel

The Magic Hotel is an excellent run hotel with very friendly staff.

The rooms are very clean and are cleaned daily. The Hotel has a bar and restaurant and also another bar and restaurant a few yards down the road which has excellent food and very friendly bar, both providing an excellent service.

All rooms at The Magic Hotel are overlooking the sea at Agi Paraskevi which make a fantastic view.

I have found this to be the best hotel on the best Island and I am about to book my 5th stay there !

    Excellent !

    Our fifth year

Yes we've just returned from the Magic hotel and the magic of Skiathos. This was our second holiday there this year and we have been going for the past five years.

I know what you are going to say, "isn't he boring" that may be so but I know what I like, the hotel, the island and revisiting the people we have met there. Holidays don't come easy or cheap but I know we are going to enjoy it all over again without there being any uncertainties.

The Magic is a small hotel although they are in the process of adding another wing with about 12 rooms and should be ready for the start of the 2005 season. There will also be a swimming pool and outside bar. The disadvantage todate has been that there isn't anywhere to sit outside because of its position on an incline. This will be overcome by the terraces around the pool. All the rooms have balconies which face the sea overlooking Plantanias Bay and is a delight to wake up to each morning.

Continental breakfast is taken on a balcony with the same view, only interrupted by the bougainvillea. At night this becomes a taverna with about 10 tables, a quieter atmosphere, wonderful view, excellent food served by your friendly young Greek. The bedrooms are quite large, light and plenty of wardrobe space. The linen seems to get changed about every other day. Telephone, TV and fridge are standard. Furniture is also provided on the balcony. The bathroom has a full size bath with a shower over, washbasin and WC. there is a hairdryer and shaver point. The bathrooms are showing some signs of wear, but nevertheless they are cleaned daily and the fresh towels provided. The Greeks may be great thinkers but they haven't thought how to suspend a shower head yet!! you get used to using one hand.

There are five bedrooms in the main building with beautiful views but you can experience some noise if there is someone late in the bar and when preparing the breakfast.

So I hope this has explain why we and so many other people from the UK keep returning to the Magic Hotel. You won't find it in any of the UK tour operators books, but it's easy to arrange it direct with the hotel. Go on try it, you might meet me!!

    How do you describe a
different country? It's completely new. Not a new state. Not a new place to
eat. It is completely new and incomparable, but I will do my best!
Now I know that this is a very short entry. Unfortunately just after my arrival I became quite sick. I didn't have the energy to do anything after the long days of hiking to
post in my blog and it’s a great regret that I have. ...

... Dawn spent 4 hours bailing out the water whilst Toni and the kids continually moped up the water in the kitchen. Just how I like to spend my Sunday afternoons.

On the flip side we were surfing and sunbathing on the beach just last week, see photo's attached as evidence. The kids had a great birthday and we are setting ourselves up for Xmas now. The lights are up in Patitiri Harbour and this has ...

A lovely walk along the beach in the wind, blew away the cobwebs. We then set off back up the hill to find a shop to buy milk and bread. We stopped at a village called Tsagarada where the plane tree in the centre is said, 'To be one of the largest and oldest in Greece'. We managed to get our few supplies at the local shop. . We then continued along the main road to Milies, where the 1895 narrow gauge railway begins/ ends, The train is known locally as 'The little train'. There is ...

Eventually we came across one of the.mule paths, it's about 3 ft wide with cobbled ridges to help to stop the mules slipping up or down. The cobbles are very wet and slippery today and we are glad that we are sticking to the road. At a junction we turn back down hill, the properties that we passed are ...
