... br> What a way to finish the trip, it's VERY different from other places we have been to, clean sheets, white fluffy towels carpet on the floor, fridge with a mini bar (with no beer in it), flat screen TV (with far too many channels) a shower that is hot when you turn the tap on
We have been really spoilt to end the trip (I still have my room to pay for until I leave though, but apparently we get a discount)
I think I will wake up in the morning and ...
The day started off early with a visit to the Egyptian Museum. The museum has over 120,000 artifacts on display with another 150,000 stored in the basement. Talk about a lot of Egyptian history! At the museum, we were able to see over 1700 items of the boy King Tut. Of all the kings, King Tut is the most well known to us due to his discovery. We walked past the boxes and coffins that he was placed in and saw the mini coffins that housed his lungs, heart and inners that were removed as part of the mummification process.
Our guide had her ‘whispers’ microphone on and we all ...
... for this year (which is actually somewhat of an ironic statement given that the Egyptian Christmas was yesterday). Anyways back to Cairo. We spent our first full day here seeing the first ever pyramids at Saqqara and Dahshur and visiting the Egyptian Museum. We originally planned on seeing the famous Giza pyramids instead of the museum, but the unseasonably cold weather (50 degrees + wind chill) and fierce winds caused us to forgo spending ...
