The Magic Castle hotel is such a brilliant place to stay and it ticks all the boxes as far as holiday accommodation goes. It is situated right behind Hollywood Boulevard and some of the great landmarks in LA such as the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum, the Dolby Theatre, the Chinese Theatre and is very much a great place to base yourself in this city. The hotel itself reminds me a little of 'Melrose Place' - a series of apartments centred around a courtyard pool. We have a great apartment on the 3rd floor, overlooking the pool and with a balcony. The apartment we stayed in was a very spacious, retro style 1 bedroom. It was clean. The service at the Magic Castle was superior to anywhere I have ever stayed. We were welcomed with lemonade and reception staff were very helpful with our bookings / directions / recommendations. I cannot fault it - such a memorable and character filled place to stay in Hollywood.

The Magic Castle Hotel is just magic...from the moment we walked up the stairs and in through the doors we were made to feel like we were at home. A glass of bubbly cider for all of us, helpful tips, maps, discount vouchers and friendly service continued for the next 3 days. The room itself was clean, roomy and very comfortable. The bed was soft and cosy and with the boys on a fold out bed in the lounge area we all had some personal space too. Our beds were turned down each night with chocolates and slippers left to add to the comfort. Having a laundry available was fantastic, we could finally wash a few essentials! Breakfast each morning was delicious and sitting by the pool provided a wonderful atmosphere to relax before the busy day ahead. Nothing was ever too much trouble for the excellent staff at the Magic Castle. Free snacks 24 hrs a day, complimentary breakfast, smiling and helpful tips were all included. We'll definitely be back and we wouldn't stay anywhere else. Thank you for a memorable time in Hollywood.

The hotel is a short walk from Hollywood Boulevard and Madam Tussauds, shops restaurants, The Magic castle Club and Ripleys Believe It or not.

The rooms are a large size so you feel like you arent on top of each other.

The staff are lovely. Very helpful and its great that you can go to reception at any time and get snakcs or soft drinks at no additional charge.'

The pool is about normal size for a hotel however it was a really nice temperature when I used it so quite refreshing after a long, fantastic day at Universal Studios.

I wouldnt stay anywhere else in LA.

Got a really warm welcome from Nick and lots of helpful advice re places to visit and things to see. He had also arranged great gluten-free breakfasts for me which I really appreciated. The girls on reception were also very friendly and helpful. The place is really fun and in a great location. Would be happy to stay again.

Today we caught the subway to universal studios. We weren't originally going to go here but on hearing the Harry Potter world had just opened I decided we should go. When we arrived we went straight to do the studio tour as this gets very busy we walked straight on no waiting bonus. They took us around all the sets which are used for movies and tv …

Today we picked up our hire car ready to drive to Los Angeles. We got a GMC Suv brand newie so Leigh was pretty happy about that. We didn't know how we would go with the driving but with gps in hand we headed off on to freeway to Santa Monica. The freeway was pretty easy going except for making sure you were in the right lane as lanes quickly …

Flight was pretty cruisy, Aden got harassed by security at the airport for having a busted head Karmel Shuttle bus to Magic Castle Hotel. People were super friendly. Room/apartment is pretty decent. Met up with chad at our hotel and headed down to Hollywood Boulevard (about 2 seconds walk from our hotel). Kwame Silegl the 'comedian' hoodwinked us …

Up early to universal studios. Caught the 'metro' $5 each for all day as much use as you want. just have to put up with the ciggy butt brains and crackheads blazing up on the train. Free shuttle up the hill to universal studios. Super elaborate and cool simulators such as the Simpsons ride and transformers. Jurassic park and mummy were the best …

After our night flight we were a little exhausted on arriving at LA International Airport. We found it very quick to get through immigration, but the size of the hall showed there can be long delays. We also found it very easy to get our hire car via Budget. It was a quite new VW Jetta and a really nice car. I turned down the $90 sat nav, feeling …
