Twice over Stelvio in one day

... I came up yesterday.

After taking the fork the road down this section heads down into a massive deep valley and gently drops as it hugs the edge of the mountain.

After about 5 or so miles the valley becomes narrow and the road starts twisting its way down a magical pass in all directions. Some of the pass has been reconstructed over the years and various sections of old road can be seen as I descend.

... scenery, paid the €24 and went to the top car park, the little Peugeot nearly blew a valve. Walked around up top, but being on slippery ice next to steep slopes is not my idea of fun, we looked around and went into the lovely town of Misurina and had lunch. ... with fresh organic mozzarella, and fresh rolls! We also gone a giant apple! We saw a bunch of apple trees for. The train on the way here and I couldn't believe the size of them we saw in the store! Then Sara and pat did a load of laundry while me and David went around town exploring and taking some pictures! It feels so good to be in Italy again, even if half the town is really German/Austian! It's interesting how on a trip like this every little piece of paper or cracker ...

... to Ritten (Renon in Italian) was fun, the trip all the way up lasted some 15 minutes, the weather was lovely, and once up there, I walked a little bit around, and then found a lovely terrace and enjoyed the sun on my face and the beautiful view. Ah, poor friends who work so hard everyday! See me, having this wonderful time!
