... affluent neighbourhood containing many grand villas and then arrived at the beach. This beautiful beach was very crowded, many people sunning themselves on the sand. One can hire a beach hut or a deck chair with shade but most seemed to opt for full sun. We had a great ice cream, pistachio and variagato for me and caramel and nougat for Gerry. Back to the bus and a 20 min drive to the ship. Formal night tonight, the ship doesn't seem as crowded on this last ...

We wake up at 5am and dump Alison and Scott on the quay and make a quick get away as 50 miles to do before the windy front arrives, that Is due late afternoon. Alison and Scott stay on board and plan their next adventure - off to Venice for a few days ...

... Monastery. Eventually it was changed into a Muslim building. It was very interesting. We could see remnants of the roman era, the monastery and the mosque.

We walked back to the hotel around 3:30 and had a bit of a rest. We have made reservations for dinner at the hotel tonight. The menu sounds really interesting. No pizza tonight, we will have what they call “slow cooked” food ...

... on the water where we could share a bottle of rose wine and some fried calamari. No such luck!!!! There don't seem to be any little beach restaurants in this city. We did stop and have lunch at 11:00; we were both hungry. We couldn't see the water but we knew we were close. We had a grande carafe of the house white, delicious and light, and a fried calamari plus a plate of spaghetti and sardines. Both ...
