    ... binge eating, I got a pizza at a bakery, then a panini that had "carne" and veggied at another street vendor. We sat at the cathedral because we had little else to do. When we went inside there was mass going on. We then had apperitivo (Italian buffet) at an Australian pub. Afterwards we got our bags and headed to the airport.     ... the poster also advertised a festival of Nuove Musiche, jointly sponsored by the Conservatorio di Musica Vincenzo Bellini, and the Theatre. I immediately headed for the beautiful theatre in Piazza Giuseppe Verdi, and booked for two concerts (not in the big opera auditorium, but in side room, and foyer).     ... Taormina as it stops at all the stations. We arrived in Messina and had to change trains for Taormina. Just time to get some lunch and back on the train. Only 4 stops to Taormina.     ... the Cathedral and wondered around for a while. On a cooler day it would have been quite an adventure. The sites from the bus as we climbed the hill were spectacular. The square is lacking in shade so made it quite uncomfortable to sit to enjoy an ice cream which we did. On returning to Palermo it was time to cool down and perhaps a siesta.
