... aboard that greatly decreased the rolling of the boat, but this still wasn’t enough to keep two of the guests from getting sea sick. The Captain gave them some motion sickness medicine and had them come up to the bridge where they could clearly see out of the yacht. This helped Nickie, but not Noel who threw up before going to her room to sleep. I spent the afternoon and evening with our other guest’s ...
Leucate, Languedoc-Roussillon, France mylifesjourneyWell, finally - after a false start setting out to pick up friends from Pau airport a day early! - first night: moored up alongside the Canal du Midi, just south of Beziers. Some very noisy ducks for company... Bit of a gloomy one weather-wise. Rained last night, but forecast suggests brightening up gradually as day goes on. Slowing our departure from ...
Villeneuve-lès-Béziers, Languedoc-Roussillon, France marcdolav... The main roads look alot like any other beach town. But the whole place has a really shady feel to it. There are tons of homeless people walking around doing their own wierd things. Its funny to see so many homeless people here, because I didn't see so many in Northern Europe.
We tried biking to Ille-sur-Tet to see the ...
... hill full of massive bugs and locusts. It was this night I had my first freak out. We were drinking wine whilst engaging in philisophical convosation when I heard a noise which sounded exactly like Hyienas. When I turned to see six massive badgers I ran and screamed like a small girl to my tent. The most embarassing part is that I hadn't registered them as badgers and I was screaming "Hyienas!!"
Camplong-d'Aude, Languedoc-Roussillon, France chris_jones01Coming back into Spain, I realized how much I loved it here. The people are so nice and relaxed, although many tourists and I enjoy being able to communicate with others in Spanish or English as it is not difficult to find someone that knows English.
Dropping my buddy and Navigator Jim Hand off at the train station in Montpelier before the stage this morning, I was on my own today. I ventured to a mountain hill ...
... Cathar castle, towering over the village and its sleepy backstreets. The village is neat and compact and has a supermarket, 'boulangerie'for the morning croissants, pharmacy, cafe and bank. Looking down on the village and just a five minute walk away is Villa La Cascade.
This is a cut stone Languedoc villa to rent, tastefully appointed with all mod cons (including broadband) with 3 en suite bedrooms and a gorgeous garden with magnificent views ...
On June 27th, Brian and I started our journey to Barcelona by jumping on a train. We were a little nervous for our first train ride, but overall the experience was pretty easy. On route we were able to take many pictures of the beautiful French countryside. The first leg of our trip to Barcelona took us to the small French city of Narbonne. Due to layovers we had a couple of hours to explore the city. Narbonne is a very quaint ...
Narbonne, Languedoc-Roussillon, France naslund13... on disembarking from our boat we made a bee line to that eating establishment only to find that it was empty...of customers that is. It was a tad early but we took a table anyway and ordered some of those pesky snails. The outdoor area in which we were sitting was on the edge of a well kept garden...a clipped lawn, fruit trees and native bushes. An ideal environment for snails to breed I thought. Other patrons arrived and by the time we ...
