    The cool thing about arriving in a new place at night is that when you wake up you get to see it in a whole new light. This Mediterranean fishing port on the Istrian coast is even more charming by day. After a much needed leisurely start to the day we wandered down the polished cobbled stone streets in search of bikes. For 50 kuna (about 10 New Zealand dollars) each you can hire a bike for 5 hours.     Burano one of Venice's many islands is like Venice but a lot smaller and way more colourful. It reminded me a bit of La Boca in Buenos Aires. Brightly coloured buildings line the canals and although busy with tourists at this time of year, a lot quieter and it has a sense of calm about it. It is very charming.     The decision in the morning was to visit the Medieval walled city of Piran in the morning, search out a beach for the boys in the afternoon, and spend the evening on the sea wall near the apartment.
