Celebrations in honor of El Cid were held last night - Cidiano 2014. In Spain there is always a reason for festivities. Like Pamplona, people of all ages lined the night streets eating and drinking. It was almost impossible to move. The hostel doors closed at 10:30, so pilgrims had to keep their partying to a minimum. Most are too tired anyways. The festivities went on all night. We took a turn off to La Faba and walked up a steep, muddy, rocky track that went on for a kilometre into the bush. As it turned out the walk was worth it.

We ended up at a fabulous albergue renovated by a German fraternity. It is one of only three albergues on the whole journey that gets a ...

... the temptation to stop and try more wines.

It was a long slog all the way through the town to get to the Albergue only to find that it was 35 rooms with 2 beds in each but they had no windows and did not look very inviting. I came back into town and managed to get a room with 3 single beds €50.

We then got very lucky and just happened to step in to a restaurant that served the ...
