... act in a different room in the palazzo. With only 35 guests, it was reminiscent of how music was performed to wealthy patrons in the 1800s. Everything was done in period costume and even much of the lighting was by candlelight. Another marvellous experience.
Venice has certainly lived up to my expectations. It has been truly memorable.

... had some currency in advance. I called in to one Cambio. He took the currency from me even though I’d told him what it was, he looked at the obverse and turned the notes over to look at the reverse. It was as if he’d never seen this money before. The notes were brand new with no marks on them. Maybe he thought it was some sort of scam. He said politely, ‘No! I’m sorry. You may be able to change them at the train station’.

It's been a while since I've traveled in a large group. I used to do it all the time. In high school, I went on several trips with a Christian organization called teen mania ministries (www.globalexpeditions.com). And the teams were always quite large. ... the morning walking up and down the narrow walk ways and looking around. Eventually we made our way to the bigger straight that separated the two major portions of Venice. This area drew more of the larger yachts and cruise ships. There were also lots of ferries taking people to where they liked.
