Norseman Inn in Bethel
This drive along Hwy 2 from Newport, where we left I-95, was a beautiful and scenic drive. Found a great Inn and Motel in Bethel, and the proprietors were a great couple who have run this place for 28 yrs and we loved it. Very cold here tonight - we arrived after dark, so we we couldn't see the mountains that surrounded us, but were told they were just below Sunday River Ski Resort.

2nd night in a hotel - so we can get ESPN and the game!
We camped last night at Cranberry Lake State Park in the Adirondacks - beautiful place. Got settled by 1 pm so had a real camping day - hiked to the top of Bear Mountain - 5 miles round trip - and later walked down to the shores of the lake to see the Blue Moon ...
Earlier in day had found a farm market so had delicious stir fry.
Tomorrow we head to New Brunswick enroute to Nova Scotia.

Last Day with the Shifrins

The kids swam, the grown-ups relaxed and chatted, the Dads played 'Monkey in the Middle' with the kids, we ate a picnic lunch......All in all a perfect way to bring our time together to a close. This was wrapped up nicely by stopping for a giant ice cream at the Weld General Store and we all sat on the front porch while we licked and gnawed our way through the afternoon treat.
