    A splendid nights sleep in our hotel Last night. The Super 8 breakfast was predictable but adequate with cereals, toast waffles, youget, eggs and coffee on offer.
    We get away at 8am as we have nearly 500 miles to do but first a stop in the Everglades and a trip on an air boat. My god I have never seen so many aligators ranging from big beasts to tiny baby ones all nearly within arm's reach (if you dare). There were masses of turtles too, which apparently make a ...

    Leaving Florida City at 8 in the morning we headed out on Route 41 through the Everglades National Park en route to our next overnight stop in the town of Perry. En route we made a quick stop at one of the many places offering airboat tours to see the alligators for which the area is famous.     ... AB tunes. Earth Wind and Fire (remember?), 30 years on, played all their famous hits and spookily looked and sounded just they they always did. Lots of southern rock was enjoyed, sometimes through the night.
