More in hope than anticipation ...

A travel blog entry by jmcefalas on Nov 10, 2014

Thanks to the lovely @plaingoldband wending her way through America I was inspired to start this blog. The title is apposite. I love home, I love the sun streaming through the east window in the morning, I love the birds flitting across the window from hedgerow to hedgerow unconcerned by my presence. I love having the radio burbling in the background and being safe, secure and settled. But I have itchy feet. They have had a few random ...

Week 6 - Back to school...

In the tea room for example, we learned that in the 18th century tea was more expensive than wine. People would keep their tea in locked boxes, to which only the lady of the house kept a key. After the tea leaves were used by ...

Today we headed for Holy Trinity in Weston super Mare for church. The pastor there, Claude, led the mission trip to Poland which I went on 19 years ago. He was surprised to see us after all these years. We were not the only surprise visitors as his son, Richard who was also on the same mission trip and has now been starting a church for surfers on the south coast of France for the last year. He showed up, unannounced at 3am that morning. After church we went down to ...
